About Nabila

Originally from India, Nabila was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a child, she had two role models — her paediatrician and Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar — and enjoyed playing sports like basketball, cricket, football, and volleyball. She even dressed up as a doctor for costume parties!

Nabila decided to follow her passion for healthcare and sports and pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Manipal University in India. As part of her clinical rotations, she volunteered at a special school for toddlers and teenagers which sparked her interest and love for working with children. During her summer holidays, she volunteered for orthopaedic paediatric camps, providing free physiotherapy aid and education to underprivileged children in Maharashtra. To further her knowledge, she went to England and pursued a Master’s Degree in Neurological Rehabilitation from Keele University, then returned to India to start her private practice. For two years, Nabila provided home physiotherapy for children and adults with neuromotor disabilities. She then moved to Dubai where she worked in a multidisciplinary team within an Early Intervention Unit for the Dubai Health Authority for three and half years.

Nabila moved to Canada in 2020 and acquired her provisional physiotherapy license. She has a keen interest in Neuro-rehab and has experience working with various conditions, including but not limited to, cerebral palsy, microcephaly, developmental delays, down syndrome, ASD, and acquired brain injury. She enjoys using fun, playful, and engaging activities with a functional approach whilst addressing the family’s concerns and helping them find solutions.

When not working, Nabila loves having an active lifestyle and exploring the outdoors. She also enjoys working out, reading, visiting national parks, bike riding, hiking, and travelling to new countries!
