Kiersten knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a career in physiotherapy and has always been interested in studying human movement. Originally from Vancouver, Kiersten knew that after travelling for her studies, that she would eventually settle back in the Lower Mainland. She first moved to Toronto to complete a double major in Kinesiology and Dance at York University. She then obtained her Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland, Australia.
While studying, Kiersten knew that she would eventually work within the pediatric population! She is passionate about working with children of all ages and is excited to be joining the team at Kids Physio Team. She loves helping children reach their full potential and help them reach their goals. She has experience working with children with autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delay as well as sport-specific injuries. Kiersten is approved on the Registry of Autism Service Providers and can assist families with children under the age of 6 to utilize their funding. She feels it is important to work from a client-centred model and works with families and children to set individual goals.
Outside of the clinic, Kiersten can be found practicing yoga, playing with her dog or doing anything outdoors. Last year she volunteered with Vancouver Adapted Snow Sports (VASS) to teach ski lessons to children with autism and is excited to be a part of the program again this year!
