Deeksha grew up in Ottawa, Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, studying in both French and English. She was involved in several research projects studying physical activity in people with cancer and neurological conditions.
Deeksha found her passion for pediatrics while completing her Master of Physical Therapy at UBC. During her clinical placements, she worked with kids of all ages, from premature
babies in the NICU to young competitive athletes. On her placement at Cambie Kids Physio, she realized this was the profession of her dreams!
As a former soccer player and classical Indian dancer, Deeksha has experienced many injuries and understands the pressures of competitive sport. She loves helping young athletes return to sport, while having fun at physiotherapy. Deeksha also treats conditions such as developmental coordination disorder, toe walking, joint pain, and more! She also sees infants for milestone check-ups, torticollis, and plagiocephaly.
Deeksha loves working with kids of all abilities and is passionate about getting them moving while having fun! In her appointments, she creates an inclusive space for kids while helping them conquer new challenges and reach their full potential!
In her free time, Deeksha can be found enjoying the great outdoors! Her favourite hobbies are biking, hiking, and yoga.
