Colleen grew up in Northern Ontario (Warren/Sudbury), where she developed a love for outdoor activities and being active in various sports (hockey being #1). After a close family member spent considerable time in and out of hospitals as an adolescent, Colleen desired to help other families with children facing illnesses/disabilities. This led to her pursuing a degree in Health Promotion, and volunteering for multiple community programs (Camp Quality, HSN Children’s Treatment Centre, adaptive rowing). These experiences, along with her “kid at heart” nature confirmed her passion to work with kids in healthcare. Before pursuing physiotherapy, Colleen travelled and worked abroad in New Zealand, Australia, and Big White Ski Resort in the areas of hospitality, summer camps, and daycares.
At UofT, Colleen soaked up every paediatric opportunity, completing clinical internships at Holland Bloorview and SickKids. She also took a paediatrics selective course and volunteered at Kids Physio. Colleen is extremely excited to now be a team member at Kids Physio, pursuing her passion for making physiotherapy a positive experience for clients and their families while reaching their goals through creative and fun sessions. She has worked with various conditions and kids of all ages and abilities and enjoys continually expanding her skillset through additional learning opportunities.
In her spare time, Colleen loves to partake in adventure pursuits such as snowboarding, camping, hiking, canoeing, bouldering, and surfing. She also enjoys spending time with friends, reading, yoga, attempting beginner dance classes, and binging reality TV.
