About Amanda
Amanda was born in Kelowna but moved to the Kootenays when she was 5. She returned to Kelowna to attain her Bachelors of Science at UBC Okanagan. Amanda has always been passionate about working with children and knew that her future career would need to include kids. In 2014 she completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at UBC in Vancouver, where she was lucky enough to have had a couple of placement opportunities in the pediatric world.
After graduation, Amanda moved to Edmonton, Alberta to work at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. She gained experience with both outpatient and inpatient populations, as well as specialty clinics like Cystic Fibrosis, Clubfoot, Chronic Pain, Headshape, and Plastics. In this setting Amanda’s love for treating children from birth to 18 years grew and she was privileged to see a large spectrum of diagnoses.
In 2020 Amanda and her growing family relocated back to Kelowna to be close to extended family. She gained further pediatric experience working in community at a child development centre, as well as within a school district setting. After having her second baby Amanda is excited to return to the world of pediatrics in the new setting of private physiotherapy. She hopes to bring her vast experience to the new families she will meet at Kids Physio Group and work with kids and families to achieve their physiotherapy goals.
In her spare time, Amanda can be found chasing after her two kiddos, working on her house, reading, or exploring various recreational pursuits around Kelowna.
