About Amanda
Amanda was born in Kelowna but moved to the Kootenays when she was 5. She returned to Kelowna to attain her Bachelor of Science at UBC Okanagan. Amanda has always been passionate about working with children and knew that her future career would need to include kids. In 2014 she completed her Master of Physical Therapy at UBC in Vancouver, where she was lucky enough to have had a couple of placement opportunities in the paediatric world.
After graduation, Amanda moved to Edmonton, Alberta to work at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. She gained experience with both outpatient and inpatient populations, as well as specialty clinics like cystic fibrosis, clubfoot, chronic pain, headshape, and plastics. In this setting, Amanda’s love for treating children from birth to 18 years grew and she was privileged to see a large spectrum of diagnoses.
In 2020, Amanda and her growing family relocated back to Kelowna to be close to extended family. She gained further paediatric experience working in the community at a child development centre, as well as within a school district setting. Amanda joined Kids Physio Group first as a private physiotherapist, and now works full-time providing publicly-funded care through the pilot Family Connection Centre. New areas of interest for her include pelvic health and hypermobility spectrum disorders. She hopes to continue bringing her vast experience to the families at Kids Physio Group Kelowna and working with kids and families to achieve their physiotherapy goals.
