Laura Patrick, B.HK.,MSc(PT), MCPA
Laura was born and raised in North Vancouver. A graduate of UBC’s Human Kinetics program, Laura also received her Masters in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2003.
Prior to starting Kids Physiotherapy in 2006, Laura spent three years with Vancouver Coastal Health as one of the physiotherapists on the Vancouver Regional Pediatric Team servicing school-aged children.
Laura has a very strong work ethic and is dedicated to Kids Physiotherapy and the kids’ well-being. In her downtime, she loves to run (especially with Gallagher), has been known to be an adventurous and passionate cook, and has a special place in her heart for Maui, her family, and her husband, Darren.
Claire Hochfeld, BSc (PT), MSc Paediatric Neurophysiotherapy, MCPA
Claire was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She did her undergraduate degree in South Africa and she started working immediately in paediatrics. She always knew she was young at heart.
After working for a few years, Claire returned to school to complete her specialist paediatric Masters degree at the University of London, England. Upon returning to South Africa, she went into patnership and started up CentaPaeds Therapy Centre: the first multi-disciplinary paediatric therapy clinic (5 PT’s, 2 OT’s 2 SLP’s, 2 psychologists and a neurodevelopmental family doctor) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Claire has completed numerous neurodevelopmental therapy (NDT) basic and advanced courses as well as a number of other paediatric post-graduate courses.
In September 2008, Claire and her husband moved to Vancouver. Before joining Kids Physiotherapy in 2010, Claire worked at Sunny Hill Health Centre in the Acute Brain Injury ward and BC Centre for Ability in the Early Intervention Therapy Program, providing community based physiotherapy services to children up to 5 years of age.
When she is not working, you can find her outside skiing, snowboarding, running, biking or reading!
Kim Hesketh
Kim was born and raised in Mississauga. In 2002, she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours at Acadia University in Nova Scotia with a thesis investigating the Benefits of Strength Training for Adolescents with Cerebral Palsy. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy.
Since graduation Kim has lived and worked in Ontario, Alberta, Hawaii, and is now settled in Vancouver. Kim has worked in several areas of pediatrics including acute, sub-acute rehab, early intervention, and at a private school for kids with neurological disabilities. Kim has also done short stints in out-patient orthopedics and geriatrics.
Currently, Kim works full time in the ICU at BC Children’s Hospital and sees clients on Monday evenings.
Outside of work Kim loves to travel and has recently volunteered as a physiotherapist in Moshi, Tanzania in Africa. She thrives on kiteboarding, surfing and participates in any sport or activity that occurs outdoors!
Gallagher (“G-Dog”)
Gallagher, born in 2006, is a goldendoodle. Not just any goldendoodle, mind you – the Kids Physiotherapy goldendoodle!
With his floppy ears, big nose, huge feet, and permanent smile, Gallagher loves to greet and play with the kids.
He also loves treats, his yellow squeak bone, the orange ball, treats, and treats.
